Plain English. Industry-standard tour-operator terms. Designed to be fair to you and protect the considerable preparation work we do for every confirmed traveller.

Significant pre-trip work begins the moment you accept your invitation. Our local team in Nairobi reviews your profile, conducts security screening, and starts matching you with vetted Kenyan women in advance of arrival. That work isn't recoverable if you cancel — so the deposit isn't either.
The deposit is also what holds your place. Tours are capped at 15 travellers. When you accept, someone else doesn't get that spot.
If you cancel after paying the balance, refunds are calculated on the balance only (the deposit remains non-refundable):
90+ days before departure
Cancel early, get most of it back.
100% refund
60–89 days before departure
Bookings firming up. Half the costs are committed.
50% refund
30–59 days before departure
Most third-party suppliers paid up.
25% refund
Inside 30 days
Everything is locked in. We can't recover the costs.
No refund
All refunds are paid in AUD to the same bank account the original payment came from, within 14 business days of your cancellation being confirmed in writing.
If we cancel the cohort for reasons within our control (operational, business decision), you receive a full refund of everything you've paid, including the deposit, within 14 business days.
If we have to cancel or substantially change the trip due to force majeure (events outside our reasonable control — natural disasters, political unrest, public-health orders, airline collapse, supplier insolvency), you'll be offered a credit toward a future cohort, or a refund of the balance you paid less any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred on your behalf. The deposit remains non-refundable because the preparation work has been performed regardless of whether the trip departs.
This is why travel insurance is mandatory — see section 6 of our terms.
A comprehensive travel insurance policy is the right tool for cancellation, illness, family emergencies, and force-majeure events. It typically costs $100–$250 AUD for a 10-day Kenya trip and covers situations our policy cannot. We require proof of insurance 30 days before departure.
Nothing in this policy excludes any consumer guarantee that applies under Australian Consumer Law and cannot be lawfully excluded. This policy applies to refunds for cancellation by choice; statutory remedies for failure to deliver the service as promised are separate and continue to apply.
